SURRENDERING YOUR DOG - THE PROCESS

Max.jpg

Once you have made the decision to surrender your dog, we would like to take you through the process of what happens from our side:

A chat box will be set up with you and the surrender team (in either Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp).

The team are there to assist you, as much as the dog, as we understand you may also need our help and support during this time.

We will ask you to complete a Behaviour Assessment form.  Please be as honest as possible, warts and all, as this will help us to select the most suitable home for your dog.

If the dog has a number of medical issues, we may ask for a copy of the vet records or for you to take the dog for a medical check up, prior to agreeing to take the dog.

If we agree to help you, we will require you to complete a Surrender Form. Again, we ask that you give as much detail as possible, as this will help your dog to settle in quicker if we know all their habits.

Once a home has been selected, we will arrange for your dog to be collected by a third party. We don’t disclose the personal details of who will be caring for the dog, but we will be in daily contact with them until the dog is adopted. We will be happy to update you as to how they are progressing, and will do regular updates on our Facebook and website, so you can follow their journey.

We will be with you every step of the way and are available if you have any questions, we aim for the process to be as seamless as possible and to make it as easy on you as we can.
