Fostering & Adopting

If you are considering fostering or adopting a dog then please read below:

With rescue dogs we’ve had toileting issues, allergies, medical problems, separation anxiety and both mild and extreme behavioural issues. But not once as hard as it’s been have we given up on any dog, even though there are times that we have been reduced to tears. We want our members to know that we are committed to these dogs and getting the right home for them, as much as we want and value our members support, we will keep the dogs at the forefront of everything we do.

Some are not perfect looking, but please look inside at their big hearts that want to love you but just need some help to show them how to do this ! We know that hands on our hearts we can look in a mirror and know that what we see isn’t perfect, but we are who we are and wouldn’t want to be anybody else, these dogs are the same. They need some help and guidance to let them blossom and not somebody who is going to give up on them at the first hurdle, they’ve been there and had that.

We know there are occasions that we will all face with either our own or a rescue dog that we will have to make that final decision to let them go, but we want to ensure that they are not alone and will know love. But that being said we are of the mindset that each day is a new day and the dogs deserve not to be given up on, so we won’t give up.

So if you feel you can put a little work in to get a massive, massive reward then please sign up to foster or adopt some of the dogs we will have coming through, but please if you can’t hand on heart say that your happy to put in some work, then perhaps a rescue dog isn’t for you.

Frenchie & Friends Foundation will do their utmost to support you if you should so choose to sign up with us but please ensure you are taking on this commitment for the right reasons. If you can give them a little time and commitment, then we can assure you when you see them change from that dark depressed place they were in when they came into rescue, to that happy, smiling dog that wants to play, run about and then come home and snuggle up next to you, then stick with us, as there is a rescue dog for you out there and sadly it could be the one tomorrow. We also have a qualified behaviourist and vet to assist with any queries in relation to dogs in foster who will offer you continued support should you need it.

So please having read this, please think long and hard about these dogs as they need commitment and love long term, but you will get back so much more than just a dog !!!

They are not perfect and like us all have their own little ways but they also have so much love that has sometimes been hidden to protect them, if you think that you can help any of these dogs then please feel free to join us and help this beautiful breed.

If you still think this is for you then please read our foster guidelines and complete our foster/adopt application. You will need to provide two references (non family members) and have a home check before homing a dog from us.
